Hayley Orrantia is an American actress, singer and songwriter. The majority of people recognize her as Erica Goldberg, from the show 'The Goldbergs' on television. Her definition of herself is an artist first and foremost. According to her, music was always her first passion. As she grew to the age of 12 her music took on a serious nature and she began professional training. At 13, she began writing songs. She recorded her debut album at 14 years old. Since then she's not been back. Orrantia was born in America but with Hispanic ancestry. Despite the fact that she only spoke English as a child and never visited Mexico Orrantia is happy with her Hispanic heritage. In order to preserve her heritage, she is learning Spanish. Also, she writes songs using the Spanish language. One of her efforts was a Spanish song titled 'Hasta Verte..' Orrantia appeared on The X Factor during its inaugural season, which aired in the summer of 2011. Orrantia received 4 "yeses" by the judges in the Seattle live auditions after having been selected from her YouTube entry. Her initial audition was an individual performer. However, in the course of "Hollywood Week" the three female performers were put in an ensemble to go through the auditions. They were eliminated in the fifth week of the live performance.
