Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see the actress pursue acting until she reached the age of 18. Perry claims she never wanted to be an actor in high school but decided to take up performing as a form of social interaction while at Northwestern University when she switched to the university from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, relocated to New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness drove her to California to find theater work. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie together with her in the year 2015. Perry was a part of nine episodes in 2016 of the ABC drama The Family. Her father played her character in The ABC Drama Scandal. She played a younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was an additional portrayal that was younger of her mother. The role was offered to her by auditioning for an open role despite having a connection to the role.
